Friday night, I sat in a room full of incredible local business owners, waiting to hear the results. And then I heard it: Best Locally Owned Salon — first place. A few minutes later: Best Hair Salon for Women — first place again.
I’m beyond grateful and taken back by it all.

The Arizona Daily Star Readers’ Choice Awards are voted on directly by Tucson residents — not judged by a panel, not decided by a marketing campaign. Every vote came from a real reader in this city choosing, by name, the salon they trust most. That’s the part that means something to me.
Twenty-eight years ago, I started doing hair because I loved it — the transformation, the trust, the moments in the chair connecting with guests. I didn’t start this business chasing awards. I started it because I believed Tucson deserved a salon that took hair seriously, took people seriously, and never cut corners on either.
So when I tell you this recognition means something, I mean it means something specific: it means you noticed. That’s not something an award show can manufacture. That’s earned, one reservation at a time.
Who This Award Actually Belongs To
This award has my name on the wall, but it belongs to every stylist who’s stood behind a chair here, to every guest who trusted us with a big change, and to a team that shows up every single day committed to doing this craft right. Tucson didn’t vote for a building or a logo. Tucson voted for the people who make this place what it is.
